Abstract

237,411. Rhodes, A. June 24, 1924. Guards.-A guard for the wheels 6, 14 .. 16 driving the front rollers of spinning, doubling, twisting, &c. machines of the continuous type comprises an upper part 2 mounted on an adjustable horizontal hinge 4, and a lower part 3, mounted on a vertical hinge 8, this lower part being held in position by a latch 17 and by the edge c, Fig. 7, of the part 2. The edge c is adapted to be within the side walls of the part 3 at its rear end and in a notch f in the front wall d, while the edge of a plate a on the part 2 takes into a shield (not shown) fixed to the machine frame A. The hinge pin 8 passes through the hinge pin 4 and a fixed stud 10, in which it is supported by a collar 9, so that it may be lifted out to remove the lower shield 3 and permit removal of the upper shield 2.
