Cigar-making machines.-A device for trans. porting the wrapper from the die 36 to a pasting device 37 and thence to a wrapping mechanism 38 comprises two arms 7, 8 of approximately equal length, pivotallv connected to one another at 9, the arm 8 being mounted on a hollow shaft which passes upward through a housing 11 and is given an oscillating movement by means of segmental gears 15, 16 and a cam 23. The wrapper carrier 3, which is of suction type, is rotated relatively to the arm 7 by a bell-crank lever 31, which is pivoted at 32 to a projection 33 of the arm 8. The bell-crank lever 31 carries a case-bowl 34 which moves within a groove 35 in a plate-cam 28 mounted above the arms 7 and 8 and the operating mechanism therefor. On the rotation of the arm 9 by means of the segmental gears 15, 16, the bell-crank lever 31 is rotated relatively to the arm 8, and the motion of this lever is transmitted to the wrapper carrier 3 by means of a rod 30 connected to an arm 5 integral with the wrapper carrier. Movement of the arm 7 is controlled by a. cam-bowl 26 mounted on a protection 24 of the arm 7, said cam-bowl working in a camgroove 27 in the cam-plate 28. Suction is communicated to the wrapper carrier through the arms 7, 8, and the vertical shaft upon which the arm 8 is mounted, all these members being hollow. The die 36 and wrapping mechanism 38 are mounted on a bed-plate 12, upon which is also mounted the housing 11 for the vertical shaft which carries the arm 8. The housing 11 is extended upwardly to carry the cam-plate 28. Both the cam plate 28 and bed plate 12 are shown partly broken away in the Figure. Specifications. 7917/00, and 6307/14. are referred to.
