Abstract

A rifle rest comprises a waist belt having rails 19 and an adjustable rifle support stem 23 adjustably mounted to the rails. The rails turn down at the ends (figure 1, not shown) to allow the rifle to be supported in a non-operative position.

<Desc/Clms Page number 1> COLLAPSIBLE RIFLE REST This invention relates to a collapsible rifle rest.
Rifle rests are well known apparatus which comprise of one or more sticks which are dependable upon ground conditions and in some conditions cannot be depended upon.
According to the present invention there is provided a collapsible and storable rifle rest.
Comprising a collapsible stem that can be worn in the form of a belt.
The stem on the rails, the stem being designed to slide along racks on the belt on the bottom of the adjustable stem a joint is provided to adjust the adjustable stem in the position desired.
Figure 1 shows in perspective the rifle rest with the adjustable stem in position to rest a rifle. Figure 2 illustrates the kept position of the adjustable stem. Figure 3 shows adjustable stem in one foward postion 'and Figure 4 shows bottom of adjustable stem Referring to the drawing the rifle rest comprises of a belt 17 and adjustable stem adjustedly secure to the rails 19 by for example stud rivet or similar means (not shown). At the bottom of adjustable stem 11 a joint is provided in order to adjust 11 locking screws 15 should be unlocked and 9 can be adjusted in order to adjust 11 and 9 backwards or forwards adjuster pin 33 on housing 21 should be operated. In order to use different rifles 23 can be used instead of 7 to put to kept positions the steps described above are carried out in the reverse sequence.

Claims (1)

  1. CLAIMS 1 A collapsible rifle rest comprising of adjustable stem, a belt in the form of rails for adjustable securing the stem to be worn round the waist of a stalker. 2 A collapsible rifle rest as in claims 1 wherein guide means are provided on the belt co-operable with the rails to control the sliding movement on the belt. 3 A collapsible rifle rest as in Claim 1 or 2 wherein the adjustable means is provided at bottom of main adjustable stem. 4 A collapsible rifle rest as claimed in 2 or 3 wherein adjuster screw is provided on the main stem for adjusting sliding movement on main stem. 5 A collapsible rifle rest as claimed in claim 4 wherein the adjusting rest can be moved up or down top part of main stem. 6 A collapsing rifle rest as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the stem is provided with more than one locked position. 7 A collapsing rifle rest as claimed 6 wherein the or catch adjuster is provided with one or more position. 8 A collapsing rifle as claimed 6 or 7 wherein the sliding rest on top part of stem can be changed for a hand gun or binocular rest. 9 A collapsing rifle rest substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1 - 5.
