Abstract

Agents which act on behalf of a system user or group of such users are able to create a further agent representative of a number of overlapping or shared characteristics (shared by a subset of agents within the system). Agents contain both public and private information and act as communication filters. Agents facilitate the formation of group culture in distributed communication systems such as the internet and cellular phone networks.
