Abstract

The remote control unit FIG 2 will send out an audible tone from the miniature speaker 4 whereby the user can identify the whereabouts of the remote control unit FIG 2 when lost in their household. The audible tone will be activated when the press button 1 on a fixed electrical item FIG 1 is pressed manually. When the press button 1 is pressed manually it will enable the signal device 2 to send out an infra-red or audible signal 2 to the signal receiver 3 on the lost remote control unit FIG 2. The signal receiver 3 will pick up the sent signal, which will cause the miniature speaker 4 to emit the audible tone.

<Desc/Clms Page number 1> REMOTEFINDER This invention relates to REMOTE CONTROL units for televisions, hi-fi systems, video recorders and similar electrical goods. Remote control units are used in most households and tend to go rriissing around the house on occasions, especially if there are children present.
The object of th#is invention is to find the lost remote control unit easily and quickly. The remote control unit wUl erriit an audible tone when a button on the fixed electrical item is pressed. A specific embodiment of the invention wiD now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:- FIG I Shows the fixed electrical item (eg. television, video recorder) with a press button I with easy access and a signalling device 2 which sends out a infra-red/ or audible signal when the button 1 is pressed- Both powered by a power adaptor buHt into the electrical items FIG 1 main power supply. FIG 2 Shows a remote control unit with a signal receiver 3 which when picks up a signal from the signalling device 2 causes a miniature speaker 4 to erriit an audible tone for a short period of time, which is easily heard. Both powered by the remote control units FIG 2 battery power supply.

  1. CLAIMS 1 . The audible tone the remote control unit emits by way ofthe miniature speaker, to help the user easily and quickly find the unit when lost around a household once the signalling device is manually activated by a press button fitted on the fixed electrical item.
