Abstract

Bathroom scales have footpads 7 and 8 between which are a display 1 to show the body weight and a speaker 2 from which the weight is given audibly as a verbal announcement. The scales have a volume control 6 and an on/off switch 5 for the verbal announcement, a selector switch 3 for choosing between metric and imperial measurements and a jackplug outlet 4 for headphones. The scales may also be programmed to announce the weight in a language other than English.
