Abstract

A bin consisting of a tapered conic section without an enclosed bottom, formed from a flat sheet of material, which is fixed and held by studs, or rivets that unclip allowing the unit to be cleaned in its flat form. This component forms the containment for the waste bag and because it is conic and the unit has no base the bag or liner will drop out instantly the unit is lifted. The cone has cut out holes to facilitate being lifted to ease the removal of the bag. The top of the bin is separate and forms a closed point. It swivels sideways completely clear of the opening. The top cone is secured to the base by a collar that slips over the top of the bin holding the bag secure. The "collar" of the top cone additionally hides the bag.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1> Household Waste bin This information relates to a domestic waste bin Domestic waste bins are well known. They consist of a carrier for some kind of liner, which is filled with waste through a lid arrangement. The lid is usually of a swing or flip variety. The bin is normally emptied by the removal of the liner which is then tied at the top and the complete bag discarded Most bins however are of the same basic design in that they are formed from two sections (square bin and a top) . The top arrangements are difficult to use and get messy and are therefore unhygienic and the base section does not facilitate the easy removal of the bag, which often tears. This is due to the bag acting like a piston in relation to its container.
According t9 the present invention there is a tapered base unit formed from a flat sheet of material. A top section arranged as a cone that swivels in the horizontal plane to reveal a hole. The cone fits onto the conic base to form the complete unit. A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which Figure 1 shows an elevation of the unit Figure 2 shows a perspective of the top of the unit Figure 3 shows how the top fits in to the base unit Figure 4 shows the specific relationship of the liner with the top of the bin Referring to the drawing. Figure 1 shows the base tapered conic section without a base, which is fixed and held by studs or rivets. The unit can be disassembled from the studs allowing for cleaning and maintenance. This component forms the containment for the waste bag and because it is conic and the unit has no base the bag or liner will drop out instantly the unit is lifted.
The top of the waste bag is tucked over the lip of the cone (fig 4) which allows for eventual tying up. The cone has two cut out holes at the base and the top to facilitate being lifted to ease the removal of the bag. The top of the bin is separate and forms a closed point. It swivels sideways completely clear of the opening. The top cone is secure to the base by a collar that slips over the top of the bin (Fig 3) holding the bag secure. The "collar" of the top cone additionally hides the bag.

Claims (6)

  1. Claims 1. A domestic waste bin that due to its conic shape allows for ease of removal of the rubbish containment bag
  2. 2. A simple conic section construction from a single sheet of material forms the base of the unit
  3. 3. Being formed from a single sheet it can be disassembled easily for maintenance and cleaning
  4. 4. The lack of an enclosed base prevents the plunger action often preventing the easy removal of the bag
  5. 5. A horizontal top/ lid moves clear of the opening where waste is deposited
  6. 6. Simple holes in the sides of the bin base allow it to be easily lifted to remove the liner
