Abstract

A bed set combination comprises a rigid box 1 capable of accommodating an infant and a fitted quilt, wherein the box is adapted to be fastened to a mattress cover 2. The box is preferably formed from plywood or a plastics material or a combination thereof. Typically, the box is detachably secured to the mattress cover by a zipper, button, ties or press studs (3, Fig. 1). A blanket or duvet 5 may be provided and may comprise a cut-out opening to provide space for the box. The object of the invention is to allow an infant to sleep safely in the same bed as its parents.

a sleeping area to contain an infant.

Bedsets comprising sheets and blankets andlor duvets are well '-eno..in.;ihere it is desirable that a bed is occupied by an adult and a baby or small child they suffer from the disadvantage that when one or two adults are sleeping in bed with a young child- it is difficult or impossible to prevent the cover from sliding over the childs face incregsing the risk of suffocation.or the child being crushed by being overlaid.

Accordinglv- to the present invention there is provided a bedset which allows an infant to sleeD in the same bed with it's parents, without fear of the child getting crushed or suffocated.

The invention provides a bedset which includes a rigid box, that fastens to a mattress cover to contain the infant and fitted quilt.

Preferably the box, is mRde of plywood or plastics material. Or made from a combination of these materials.

The box portion is preferably detachable for storage and cleaning purposes by well known means of press-studs "zip", button or ties.

A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of referring to the attached drawings.
