Abstract

A mirror unit comprises a mirror <B>3</B> and display <B>4</B> mounted behind the mirror and arranged to project images through the mirror. The images may be moving as well as non-moving with or without sound and in colour. The mirror <B>3</B> may be transilluminated by a light source <B>2</B>. The display is preferably a TFT unit which is controlled by a computer and which can transilluminate the mirror. The mirror unit appears as a display when illuminated and a mirror when not illuminated. The mirror unit may be combined with a mobile wash basin unit and is preferably used for advertising.

Description

2362494 ADVERTISING MIRROR The illustrated invention refers to the areas
of media techniques and sanitary equipment.
Known models only included a mirror or display function. The novel feature is the function of the mirror as a display by transillumination from the back side and the simultaneous use as a mirror in the common sense.
It is thus possible to, advantageously, use a mirror such that it looks like a mirror and also like a display for the viewer. Movable images and also stationary images with variable possibilities of application are projected through the mirror depending on the requirements and simultaneously the possibility of using the object as a mirror is given. For the viewer there is the advantage that he may observe sequences of images of moving and stationary images by transilluminating a mirror from the back side, which mirror works in the normal way.
According to the present invention, there is provided a mobile advertising mirror, 20 wherein behind the mirror a display or terminal is arranged which transilluminates moving images and also stationary images with or without sound in colour through the mirror.
Preferably, the mirror is transilluminated by the display, wherein the mirror looks like a display when the display is illuminated and works as a mirror in the common sense when the display is dark.
Preferably, the mirror can be combined with a washing basin element and that the whole unit is mobile.
At least one embodiment of the invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which:
Figure 1 is a front view and a side view of the device.
Referring to Figure 1, the elements are: an upper structure 1 made from wood, an illumination 2, a spy mirror 3, a display 4 with TFT technique, a PC unit 5, a washing basin 6 and a lower structure 7 made of wood.
A mirror 3 is an advertising mirror new with respect to media technique as well as sanitary equipment.
The mirror 3 is combined with a washing basin 6 completely equipped with equipment such that this unit may be used as a sanitary object. The mirror 3 itself can be transilluminated from one side with a light source 2. If the mirror 3 is not transilluminated, it works as a mirror in the common sense for the viewer.
in the lower structure 7, the washing basin 6 completely equipped with corresponding equipment is fixed. On the lower structure 7, the upper structure 1 with mirror 3, illumination 2, TFT display 4 and the PC unit are arranged. The TFT display 4 is mounted in contact with the back side of the mirror 3 such that the display transilluminates the mirror 3 from its back side. In the upper structure 1, the PC unit 5 for controlling the display 4 is mounted and additionally also the illumination 2 at the periphery of the mirror.
Simultaneously, a sequence of videos and/or images in the form of moving and non-moving images with or without sound may be projected from the back side of the now transparent mirror 3 with the integrated media technique comprising the PC 5 with the flat display 4 or terminal connected thereto and a sound reproducing means. Thereby, the mirror 3 appears to a viewer as a display if the flat display 4 is illuminated and works as a traditional mirror if the flat display 4 is dark.

Claims (5)

  1. CLAIMS.
    A multimedia mirror, wherein a display is mounted behind the mirror projecting moving images as well as non-moving images with or without sound 5 in colour throughout the mirror.
  2. 2. A multimedia mirror according to claim 1, wherein said mirror is transilluminated by the display and appears as a display when the display is illuminated and works as a mirror in the common sense when the display is dark.
  3. 3. A multimedia mirror according to claims 1 to 2, wherein the mirror can be combined with a washing basin element, wherein this unit is mobile.
  4. 4. A multimedia mirror comprising a display mounted behind the mirror, the display being arranged to project images through the mirror.
  5. 5. A multimedia mirror substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
