Abstract

Temperature calibration apparatus (1) is provided for calibrating a plurality of different types of temperature sensors. A body (2) has a well (4). A plurality of inserts is provided, each of which can be inserted into the well (4) to adapt the body (2) to be used in the calibration of different types of temperature sensors. The plurality of inserts includes at least a block (20) having at least one recess (21) for receiving a temperature sensor to be calibrated; a substantially solid block (30); a hollow container (40) containing a liquid (43); a black body insert (50) to adapt the well (4) to be substantially a black body; and a fixed point cell (60).
