Abstract
A metallic pedal guard for a motor vehicle includes a frame which houses a hinged or swing door that opens on the left-hand side of the frame. The door folds at the right-hand side. The door is lockable, may be illuminated when locked and may be alarmed. There is a leg fixed at each bottom corner of the frame base, including a swivelling facility. This section may be used alone with the lugs securing the frame to part of the interior of the vehicle. At each end of a complete leg there is a lock. Each leg may comprise two, three or four separate sections, or be in telescopic sections. A bar caps both leg ends and is lockable. The bar may house studs.

DESCRIPTION
PEDAL GUARD The Pedal Guard relates to a lockable guard of pedals of cars. (Possibly encompassing all pedal driven vehicles in the future). The Pedal Guard when locked boxes the pedals from sight and access from any unauthorised driver.
The Pedal Guard maybe free standing and can be fixed by almost anyone in that is needs no specialist garage fixing or bolting to the car chassis and can be moved to another car when necessary. There is also a facility to permanently fix in place. When in position it is inobtrusive of the driver's space. It is lockable. When in position the only moving part is the door/gate. The door opens to the left with a shaped folding portion of door anchored open to the left of the driver's left calf. The invention solves the problem of having to find and fix other securing methods of the car when leaving. It is always in place with the door opening on entry by manual or remote locking and closes on leaving either electronically or manually.
The object of the invention is to have secure locking of vehicles with the minimum of action from the driver/owner.
Accordingly, this invention provides a freestanding and/or fixed securing of the car pedals. The pedals are out of sight when the invention is locked and by its presence will deter any would be taking away of a vehicle because of the time it would take to break away the guard. It will look robust because the door is to be made of solid metal boxing in the pedals. When locked the door/gate maybe illuminated and alarmed.
The invention is to made of metal. The strengths of which will be advised upon by specialist engineers.
The preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:
FIGURE 1 shows an overall view of the invention.
FIGURE 2 shows door shape.
FIGURE 3 shows bar and locks at end of each leg. Bar shapes and design may vary together with studs of varying shapes and designs. See drawing numbered 5/6 giving an example.
FIGURE 4 shows legs shaped to fit under seat, and extending ie screw or telescopically adjustable, able to be built in situ and connected 2 to the next leg section. The leg section from the front of the seat to the gate/door may have a block with screwing in holes, with threads at one or several heights to facilitate the fixing of the leg which lies under the seat. The legs joining the frame of door/gate will have swivels and lugs.
FIGURE 5 shows studs. The design of these may vary FIGURE 6 shows door hinging or central post swing fixing enclosing all parts for added security.
FIGURE 7 Side view 1 will describe the invention and fixing as follows:
The invention is slipped into position in two parts. The gate/door and front leg section is positioned and adjusted. The legs immediately under the seat will be adjusted to shorten or lengthen until a fit is established from the rear of the seat runners to the front of the seat runners and attached to the block of the front leg from seat to gateldoor. The frame and door sit immediately in front of the pedals under the dashboard. The bar in Figure 3 will cap the leg ends to the rear of the vehicle's seat and the studs will cover the runner ends. It will be then locked into position. It is now ready to be used. The door being the only moving part, folding from the corner of the righthand side of the pedals and moving back from the door frame until against the car out of the driver's space and secured as folded. ie by magnet. A handle maybe fitted to the door. The door/gate when locked maybe illuminated and alarmed. Lugs maybe used to secure Guard to vehicle.
Reference to door or guard is the same part.
This application is an improved invention upon Applications GB 0005965.9 13.03.00 and GB 0008023.4 01.04.00 made by myself Gladys Ullyart.
