Abstract
The grip lock has a cylindrical gripping sheath 1, which is placed between a bicycle grip 3 and a handlebar 4, the purpose of which is to frictionally secure the bicycle the on the cylindrical gripping sheath. A securable collar 2 is used to secure the gripper 1 on said handlebar 4 using the aforementioned securing system.

2360261 A_ BICYCLE GRIP LOCK This invention relates to a device that holds
bicycle grips in place.
Bicycle grips can spin and move laterally when used to the extreme. This is not only a nuisance but can become dangerous if the grip moves too far.
Measures can be taken to make sure that the grip doesn't move such as glueing or the use of wire but these make it difficult to remove the grip at the end of its life or for maintenance.
This invention use's a metal tube section with rough edges showing to grip the grip and a locking collar to fasten the tube section to the handlebar.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by the way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: - Figure 1 shows in perspective an exploded view of the invention with a grip and handlebar.
Figure 2 illustrates the invention in place relative to a grip and handlebar.
Referring to the drawing the invention consists of a locking collar 2 and a gripper 1.
In order to assemble the invention, first the locking collar 2 is placed on the handlebar 4. The grip 3 is placed over the gripper 1. This allows the grip 3 and gripper to be slipped onto the handlebar easily. The locking collar 2 is then placed over the exposed part of the gripper 1 and tightened to secure the assembly.
To release the assembly the above procedure is carried out in 1 reverse.

Claims (2)
1. A bicycle grip locIzing system comprising a securable collat., means for securing tn. C_ the collar and a cylindrical sheath ivith means for frictionall-tw, securino a bicycle grip on its outer surface.
2. A bicycle grip locking system as claimed in claim 1 wherein the securahle colial- is secured using the nicans for securing the collar, around one or mot.e ends of the cylindrical sheath.
