Abstract

An Anti - Theft Device includes a locking arm hinged to a base plate that is fixed to a vehicle, a locking box being placed over the locking arm such that it holds the brake on and makes the clutch unusable.

DESCRIPTION

This invention relates to an Anti - Thef t Device which will immobilise the vehicle or machinery to which it is f itted. Anti - Theft Devices are well known but suffer from disadvantages so that vehicles and machinery are still being stolen although they are fitted with various Anti - Theft Devices# The object of this invention is to provide an Anti - Thef t Device to ensure the vehicle or machinery cannot be towed or driven away by means of holding the brake pedal down so the brakes are locked on and the clutch is unusable The invention is of such strength and is fitted with a high security lock so as to prevent the removal of the Anti Theft Device by unauthorised persons, It will be manufactured from steel and finished in a plastic coating in a bright colour to ensure being seen by would be thieves A locking arm (Fig 1) Is hinged to a base plate (Fig 2). The locking arm (Fig 1) is able to move backwards and forwards to enable the correct angle to be obtained to take the locking box (Fig 4) which contains the looking device. The 'locking box (Fig 4) is placed over the locking arm (Fig 1) and will slide down to cover and enclose the brake and clutch pedals which are then firmly pushed down and locked in position. The vehicle or machinery now cannot be driven or towed away. The locking arm (Fig 1) can be moved forward and clipped in to the resting position when not in uses The locking box (Fig 4) is only removable by unlocking with the key. The base plate with the hinged arm (Fig 3) is fitted to the vehicle or machinery by way of shear bolts which are threaded into a fixing plate (Fig 7) underneath the floor of the vehicle or machinery 2 DESCRIPTION

Claims

The vehicle or machinery cannot be moved once the brake and clutch pedals

have been enclosed in the locking box and locked in a secure position as in Claim 1.
