Abstract

A visual tow bar alignment device comprises a first rod (1) which is attached to a towing vehicle tow bar by a tow bar cover, clip or clamp or by magnets. A second rod (2) is attached to a tow hitch of a trailer or caravan by a clip or clamp or by magnets. The rods may include a flag or disc and may be luminous or brightly covered. The rods may also be telescopic.

DESCRIPTION
A VISUAL TOWBAR ALIGNMENT AID/OR TRAILER HITCH POSITIONER.
The invention relates to a visual towbar alignment aid/or trailer hitch positioner whi b eh includes rods attached to towball coversclips or magnets, and are mounted on vehicle towballs and caravan/trailer hitches.
The object of this invention is to allow a caravan/trailer to be hitched to a towing vehicle by the driver without the aid of a third party.
Preferably the alignment aid is made from metal or Plastics mater but it may instead be made from wood, or from a combination of these materials.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which Fig. 1 shows a side view of the whole alignment aid/ or trailer hitch positioner with Rod 1. attached to the towing vehicle towball and Rod 2 attached to the caravan/trailer hitch.
Fig. 2 shows the towball alignment aid/or trailer hitch positioner in position for hitching up.

Claims (1)

  1. CLAIMS.
    A visual towbar alignment aid/or trailer hitch positioner including two rods which are fixed to towball covers, clips -,.or magnets.
    c 2. A visual towbar alignment aid/or trailer hitch positioner as in Claim 1. with rod 1. attached to the towing vehicle towball and Rod 2. attached to the trailer/caravan tow hitch.
    A visual towbar alignment aid/or trailer hitch positioner as in claim 2. with Rod 1. attached to the towinq vehicle towball by means of a towball cover, clip or magnet, and Rod 2. attached to the caravan/trailer hitch by means of a clip or magnet.

    A visual towbar alignment aid/or trailer hitch positioner as claimed in any preceeding claim. The Rods 1. and 2. can be rigid or telescopic, they can be any colour or luminous and can be of varying lengths.
    A visual towbar alignment aid/or trailer hitch positioner as claimed in any preceeding claim which is made from plastics material, metal or wood or from a combination of these materials.

    A visual towbar alignment aid/or trailer hitch positioner as claimed in any preceeding claim which can have a flag or disc at the top of Rods 1. and 2. which can be any colour or luminous, made from plastics material, metal or wood, or a combination of these materials.
    7. A visual towbar alignment aid/or trailer hitch positioner as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
