Abstract

A toilet ventilation system comprises a toilet seat (6) having a hollow chamber (4) formed therein, the chamber communicating with a series of openings at the inner edge of the seat and being connected via a pipe (5) to an extraction means.

Description

1 2360044 1 VENTED TOILET SEAT This invention relates to a vented toilet
seat The problem of effectively ventilating a toilet w.c. pan is addressed by this invention. Venting the odour at the source, as the toilet is being used removes offensive smells quickly and efficiently.
Most toilet rooms at the present time are ventilated at an external window by natural means or extract fan, or by an extract vent at ceiling level. In both cases as everybody knows bad odour hangs around for at least 30 to 45 minutes after the w.c. pan has been used by someone with an even slightly upset digestive system.
The accompanying diagram illustrates the above. The vented toilet seat is fixed in place on the w.c. pan in place of any existing toilet seat using the same standard fittings. The neoprene seal assists in making the venting of the pan very affective, but can be omitted if not practical.
The venting air. extract system can be activated by the room light switch pull cord, as being the safest method.
The vented toilet seat is connected to a suitable air extract system by flexible plastic pipe to the outside air.
KEY z Seat cover to match.
