Abstract
An encapsulation system using four separate layers of enclosure to seal for transportation a hazardous substance. Each of the outer three layers completely encloses the previous layer and the inner layer completely encloses the hazardous substance. The first and inner layer consists of a self-sealing polyethylene bag in which the hazardous substance is placed and sealed. The second layer is a self-adhesive, clear plastic film that completely encloses the previous layer. The third layer is a self-sealing, bubble-wrap bag in which the previously sealed layer is placed and sealed. The forth and outer layer of the system is a bubble-lined postal envelope in which the previously formed package is placed and sealed.
Description
POSTAL ENCAPSULATION SYSTEM FOR HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES The invention is an encapsulation system which allows small amounts of some hazardous substances to be carried by Royal Mail.
These substances are normally prohibited by the Royal Mail from being carried by them.
The encapsulation system consists of a) self seal polyethylene bag b) self adhesive clear covering film c) self seal bubble bag d) self seal bubble lined postal bag The mode of use of the system is:- 1) place the hazardous substance in the self seal polyethylene bag, squeeze the air out of the bag and seal it 2) remove the backing from the self adhesive clear covering film and completely encapsulate the self seal polyethylene bag containing the hazardous substance 3) place the encapsulated self seal polyethylene bag containing the hazardous substance into the self seal bubble bag and seal it 4) place the, now sealed, self seal bubble bag into the self seal bubble lined postal bag and seal this The postal bag is now ready to be dispatched by Royal Mail.
Claims (3)
- CLAIMS 1. An encapsulation system including four separate layers all of differing construction permitting a hazardous substance to be sealed within the encapsulation layers for transportation.
- 2. An encapsulation system as claimed in claim 1 which permits transportation of a hazardous substance without exposing the carrier to risk.
- 3. An encapsulation system as claimed in claim 1 which is approved by the Royal Mail and the Civil Aviation Authority for transportation of a prohibited substance as defined by the Royal Mail.
