235,536. Boltshauser, H. June 13, 1924, [Convention date]. Motor power plant; regulating.-In a turbine installation for driving land vehicles, such as locomotives, comprising a multi-stage turbine 1 with an additional turbine 2 for starting, the exhaust from turbine 2 bye-passes at least the first stage of turbine 1. When valves 10, 11 are open, valve 12 is closed either automatically or manually, so that turbine 1 receives steam either from main 12 or main 10 and exhaust 11. The turbines 1, 2 may be mounted on the same shaft or may be geared together, and they may be housed in the same casing. Turbine. 2 may be put under a vacuum when out of action. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 21195/10.
