Abstract

A light switch is made from plastic that absorbs daylight or artificial light and then glows in the dark. The plastic may be used in the rocker, toggle or cover portions of the switch. It may be formed as self-adhesive patches or strips that are applied to surfaces of existing switches.

DESCRITTION LIGHT SWITCH - USE OF NEW NIATERIAL.
Standard Light switches are difficult to find in the dark. Especially pull cords, and switches in places one is not familiar with. A switch which emits a glow in the dark would facilitate finding it so much easier.
It is proposed to use a plastic that absorbs daylight or artificial light and emits it as a glow when it is dark. The material will be able to be moulded as part of a standard pattern electric light switch either as a rocker, toggle, or complete cover. In addition the pull knob (acorn) of pull cord actuated switches could also be made from the same plastic.
The same plastic material will be made into self adhesive patches or strips to attach to existing switches or indeed any other item that may require identification in the dark.
See page 2. for the I- accompanying sketches illustrating the uses mentioned.

Claims (4)

1. A LIGHT SWITCH USING A MATERIAL THAT ABSORBS ARTIFICIAL OR DAYLIGHT AND THEN EMITS IT AS A GLOW WHEN IT IS DAM WOULD BE EASIER TO FIND
2. A SWITCH AS IN CLAIM 1 COULD BE MOULDED ENTIRELY FROM AN ABSORBENT MATERIAL, OR JUST PARTS OF IT, SUCH AS THE ROCKER, TOGGLE, OR FACE PLATE
3. A PULL KNOB (ACORN) AS IN CLAIM 1 AND CLAIM 2 COULD BE MOULDED FROM THIS MATERIAL
4. SELF ADHESIVE PATCHES OF LIGHT ABSORBENT MATERIAL COULD BE APPLIED TO EXISTINGLIGHT SWITCHES, AND WOULD MAKE TIHEM EASIER TO FIND IN THE DARK
