Abstract
A storage unit for an oral cleaning device 1, for example a toothbrush, comprises a tube 3 in which a quantity of anti-bacterial liquid 5 can be stored thus cleaning the toothbrush when not in use. The inner surface of the tube may have protrusions 4 for cleaning the bristle head when the brush is removed, and there may be a removable seal 2 around the top of the unit for preventing dirt from entering the unit and also for cleaning/removing excess fluid from the brush head on its removal from the tube. The storage unit may be freestanding or wall mounted, and may be part of a rack of such units for storing a plurality of brushes. The removable seal 2 allows the storage unit to be cleaned and the anti-bacterial liquid to be replaced.

DESCRIPTION
This invention is solely for the purpose of storing a oral hygience cleaning instrument (in this case & most commonly a toothbrush) in between usage.
The main storage unit 3 is where the oral cleaning instrument 1 is kept during none use. The main storage unit 3 can be filled to the appropriate level with solution 5.
Solutions 5 can change as required but their main use is to fight bacteria. When taking the instrument 1 from the storage unit 3 & out of the solution 5, the instrument 1 can then on it's way out of the storage unit 3 be scrapped against the pertruding internal rubbing 4, this again is optional as there is room to pass them without scrapping but is helpfull to remove excess fluid from the instrument 1.
The final part of the operation is to remove the instrument 1 from the unit 3 fully. This can only be done by taking the instrument 1 passed the top seal 2. The top seal 2 has two main uses, the first is to help stop household germs, dust E.tc. from entering the unit 3. The second is to remove any residue left on instrument not removed by the internal rubbing 4, this then removes the instrument 1 from the unit 3 clean and ready for use. After usage of the instrument the aforementioned procedure is reversed whereupon instrument 1 stays within the solution 5 inside the unit 3 until next required for use. All of the parts mentioned excluding solution 5 can be made from plastics or any other material preferred. Solution can be produced from any materials prefered to aid the fight against bacteria build up on the instrument 1. The unit itself can be freestanding wall mounted, with or without feet to hold down whilst you remove your instrument 1. It can also be for a single instrument 1 or be as part of a rack for multiple or family use but only ever one instrument per unit. Finally the top seal 2 is removable so the unit can he cleaned & the solution renewed periodically.
Claims (1)
- Claim 1 The oral hygiene holster is used to store oral cleaning instruments most commonly a toothbrush during non use. This will give maximum protection against household germs & insects which are normally allowed to contaminate toothbrushes left out in the open in between use.Claim 2 The oral hygiene holster as claimed in claim 1 where in pertruding internal rubbing helps to remove any excess solution on removal from the solution & on the way out of the unit prior to use.Claim 3 The oral hygiene holster as claimed in claims 1 & 2 wherein the top seal has a dual purpose of removing any excess solution from the brush and at the same time sealing the top of the unit to help stop germs & insects E. T.C. from coming into contact with the oral cleaning instrument, as is the case with any toothbrush not stored in this way.Claim 4 The oral hygiene holster as claimed in Claims 1,2 & 3 wherein the top seal is easily removed so the whole unit can be washed easily & solution renewed, gaining maximum effectiveness in the fight against germs & bacteria build up.
