Abstract

An adjustable template comprises a group of either four or six set angled corners 1 connected by a series of telescopic, hollow box-sections 2. The angled corners 1 can be either 135 or 150 degrees and can be pulled apart to any desired size. Inside each hollow box-section 2 is a built-in tape measure visible by means of a viewing window (3, figure 4) which allows the user to check the section widths. Another tape measure (4, figure 3) is built into the end of the adjustable template to allow the overall widths to be checked. The template is suitable for marking out the exact shape for the base of a conservatory and also can be used to check the shape and size as it is constructed.

Description

2342114 ADJUSTABLE TEWLATE This invention relates to an adjustable angle
template, for the setting out and checking of angles and segment sizes of Viptorian shapes, in the construction side of bases for conservatories.
The conservatory industry has become increasingly more competitive, making the margin for error more important to be reduced, especially with the three and five facet shaped Victorian styles.
Anyone who is involved in the glazing industry, and is familia with the conservatory side, knows it is important the angles and segment sizes have to be correct to ensure the frames and roof fit perfectly onto the base.
There are present inventions like the hand held tape measure, and devises which measure angle's but these cannot measure all the segment sizes and angles simultaneously. This invention will allow the builder to set out the correct shape and sizes and also allow him to keep checking it as he constructs.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by the way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings M which; Figure 1 shows in perspective the three facet adjustable template in its closed position.
Figure 2 shows in perspective the three facet adjustable template in it's open position.
Figure 3 shows the view window, in which you can see the tape measure of all the sections, as it is pulled apart.
Figure 4 shows the built in tape measure to check the overall width, when setting out the base.
Figure 5 shows in perspective the five facet adjustable template in its closed position.
The adjustable template is to be constructed of a ridged, but a light hollow box shaped section, possibly aluminium, 100 mm M diameter the same width of a building brick. It has set angled comers of either 135 or 150 degrees depending on whether it is for a three or five facet shape. The adjustable template can be extended by the way of a telescopic method with small box sections inside.
Referring to the drawings, the 3 facet adjustable template comprises of four set angled comers I and hollow box section 2 inside, that slides apart as shown in figure 2. Built in there is a tape measure, and by looking through the view window 3 as shown in figure 4, you can check the section width is correct. On the other end of the adjustable template there is another built In tape measure 4 as shown in figure 3 this can be pulled across to check the overall Width of the base.
The five facet adjustable template is constructed exactly the same as the three facet, but incorporates two extra sections and two extra angled comers, as shown in figure five.

Claims (3)

  1. I The adjustable angle template comprises of four or six angled comers of 135 or 150 degrees respectively which can be parted from each other using a hollow box section. When the correct size is attained this can be used as a template to set out the initial shape of the Victorian conservatory bases.
  2. 2 The adjustable template as claimed, in claim I win have built in tape measures inside each segment hollow box section with view window to check all segment sizes simultaneously.
  3. 3 The adjustable template as claimed in claim I or claim 2 will have a built in tape measure on the end, so the overall width can be checked.
