Abstract

Matting comprises two superposed layers (1 and 3). Lower layer (1) is a moulded rubber base formed with a plurality of integral circular scraper protuberances which extend through respective complementary circular apertures (4) in upper layer (3) which is a carpet layer. The layers (1, 3) are bonded or attached to provide permanent or temporary fixing together. The protuberances (2) have a multi-directional scraping action and the 'open' aspect of the material allows moisture to move outwards promoting faster drying times. Protuberances (2) may be bonded rather than integral and the material of the layer may be different or the same.
