Abstract

A packaging container for allowing a carbonated drink to be dispensed without the remaining liquid going flat comprises a chamber 2 for the drink which is reduced in size as the drink is dispensed, preferably through a tap 5. The chamber 2 may be collapsed by expansion of a pressurized chamber 3 within or forming an outer container.

Description

2340812 CARBONATED DRINKS DISPENSE.
This invention relates to a packaging container which allows carbonated / gaseous liquids 0 to be dispensed without the remaining liquid going flat.
C7 When a carbonated drink is dispensed currently fi-om a container i.e. bottle, then the liquid remaining in the container starts to lose its carbonation. This in turn results over time in the liquid going flat ( losing its fizz).
An object of this invention is to allow dispense of carbonated liquid in less than the full container size without the remaining liquid going flat.
Accordingly this invention provides a'carbonated liquid'chamber which reduces in size as the contents are dispensed.
There is either a second chamber which expands at the same rate as the 'liquid' chamber decreases or the outer container acts as the second chamber itself The second chamber would contain a higher pressure than the 'liquid' chamber to maintain the top pressure on the liquid in the 'liquid' chamber. This higher pressure keeps the gas in the liquid in and not escaping to fill the space made avdable by the liquid being dispensed as per bottles.
This invention wfil allow larger containers of the liquid to be used than are currently, as there is no wastage for the consumer i.e. no flat liquid.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:
FIGURE 1 shows graphically how the system is made up. There is an outer container (1) which holds the first liquid chamber (2) and the expanding second chamber (3)). As liquid is dispensed through tap (5) then the higher pressure in chamber (3) will expand (6), so squeezing chamber (2) and maintaining the original top pressure on the liquid in chamber (2).

Claims (4)

CLAIMS 1 A carbonated drink- / liquid dispense system which reduces / stops the liquid remaining in the container from losing its gas and going flat.

2 Top pressure is maintained on the liquid by reducing the size of the container as the volume of liquid reduces.
3 The liquid container can be reduced in size by a means of a squeezing mechanic elastic / ratchet / winding / exterior pressure.
4 The exterior pressure force on the liquid container can be exherted by a second chamber expanding.
Both chambers would be contained within one overall chamber or this outer chamber may act as the second chamber.
