Description

TITLE AN ELECTRIC EYELASH CURLING DEVICE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Nowadays, more and more various cosmetics are available commercially. Particularly, cosmatics used for eye and eyelash makeup are so rapidly developed that new products appear in the market everyday. For eyelash makeup, an eyelash curler is an indispensable implement. However, the currently available eyelash curlers are not equipped with any heating device, and thus the eyelashes of a user can only be curled temporarily without satisfactory effect.
Therefore, it is tried by the applicant to deal with an electric eyelash curler, which includes a heating element capable of cooperating with a setting lotion to permanently curl the eyelashes safely and quickly.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to an electric eyelash curling device, and more particularly to an electric eyelash curling device equipped with a protective retainer, a heating element held by the protective retainer, and a corresponding capillary plate. The heating element is heated by batteries contained in a handle of the electric eyelash curler via a switch disposed thereon, and the capillary plate has plural capillaries capable of evenly absorbing and distributing a setting lotion over the capillarity plate whereby when the heating element is switched on the capillary plate is simultaneously pushed upward to press eyelashes against the heating element, making the eyelashes permanently upward curled via the heating effect of the heating element cooperating with the setting lotion adhering to the eyelashes due to capillarity absorption thereof.
According to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, an electric eyelash curling device comprises: a hollow handle, capable of containing batteries therein, having a switch controlling power supply of the batteries; a protective retainer having two side holders; two hollow guide rods connecting said protective retainer to said handle; a heater held by and between said two holder of said retainer; a set of wires disposed through said hollow guide rods to electrically connect the batteries to said heater to heat said heater; a capillarity plate having plural capillaries and two side slide holes throughwhich said guide rods go to slidably guide said capillarity plate; a link member pivoted to and between said guide rods via a pivot pin; a support rod connecting said capillarity plate to said link member;; a switch disposed on said handle to control power supply of the batteries contained in said handle; and a controlling rod connecting said link member to said switch, whereby when a setting lotion is applied to said capillarity plate, said plural capillaries will evenly absorb and distribute the setting lotion over said capillarity plate via capillary attraction, and when said switch is switched on, said capillarity plate is simultaneously moved upward to contact said heater, while when said switch is switched off, said capillarity plate is moved downward to separate from said heater such that eyelashes can be pressed between said heater and capillarity plate and absorb the setting lotion from said capillarity plate via capillary attraction of themselves whereby the eyelashes can be permanently curled via heating effect of said heater cooperating with the setting lotion.
The present invention can be best understood through the following description and accompanying drawings wherein: BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the electric eyelash curling device of the present invention; Fig. 2 is a sectional view taken on B-E line in Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is an enlarged sectional view taken on A-A line in Fig. 1, showing the capillaries of the capillarity plate of the present invention; Fig. 4 is an enlarged top elevation view of the capillarity plate of the present invention; Figs. 5A and 5B shou the application of one embodiment of the present invention; and Figs. 6A and 6B show the application of another embodiment of the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Please refer to Fig. 1. The electric eyelash curling device of the present invention includes a hollow hand 1 capable of containing batteries therein, a protective retainer 2 having two side holders 23, a heater 22 mounted between the holders 23, a pair of hollow rods 21 connecting the retainer 2 to the handle l, a capillarity plate 3 having two side slide holes 32 throughwhich the guide rods 21 go to slidably guide the capillarity plate 3, a link member 4 pivoted to and between the guide rods 21 via a pin 41, a pair of support rods 31 connecting the capillarity plate 3 to the free end of the link member 4, and two controlling rods 5 connecting the link member 4 to a switch 6.
Please refer now to Fig. 2. The heater 22 has a heating element 221, which can be electrically connected to the batteries contained in the hollow handle 1 by means of a set of wires disposed through the hollow guide rods 21. The protective retainer 2 is shaped in accordance with the human eyelid and suitable for shielding the eyelid from the heater 22. The switch 6 is disposed on the handle 1 whereby when the switch 6 together with the controlling rods 5 are pushed upward, the batteries are electrically connected to the heating element 221 via the wires disposed through the hollow guide rods 21 to heat the heating element 221, while the capillarity plate 3 is consequently pushed upward and slided along the guide rods 21 due to link motion of the link member 4 and support rods 31.As shown in Figs. 5A and 5B, when opposing the retainer 2 against the eyelid and pushing the switch 6 upward, the eyelashes 10 will be pressed between the capillarity plate 3 and the heater 22 and upward curled.
As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the capillarity plate 3 has plural capillaries capable of evenly absorbing and distributing a setting lotion applied to the capillarity plate 3 via capillary attraction.
Therefore, when the eyelashes are pressed between the heater 22 and capillarity plate 3, they will absorb the setting lotion contained in the capillarity plate 3 via capillary attraction of themselves and thus be permanently upward curled by the heating effect of the heater 22 cooperating with the setting lotion.
Please refer to Figs. 6A and 6B. Another embodiment of the present invention is shown. In this embodiment, the heater 22 is fashioned into a flat elliptic shape with sharp lower portion 222 and the heating element 221 is stripshaped, while the capillarity plate 3 is correspondingly formed with sharp groove 35. Therefore, the eyelash 10 can be further upward curled when pressed between the heater 22 and capillarity plate 3.
The heater 22 can be heated up to about 70 C via the DC voltage of the batteries, and therefore, when the eyelash 10 is pressed between the heater 22 and the capillarity plate 3, and immersed in the setting lotion applied on the capillarity plate 3, the eyelash will be effectively permanently curled.
The protective retainer 2, guide rods 21, capillarity plate 3 and support rods 31 are all made from heatinsulating material to avoid any affection on the eyes due to heating. Pa-rticularly, the protective retainer 2 and the capillarity plate 3 are made from PC or PBT plastics, which can resist more than 160 C high temperature. Therefore, the eyes of a user will be well protected from any harmful affection.
