Abstract

223,111. Doolan, J. T. Feb. 11, 1924. Harvesting-machines. - A draught appliance for a binder or other vehicle in which the resistance to the pull is situated at the side of the line of draught comprises a truck 5 secured at the outer end of a crossbar 10 by a pivot 13 and connected to the pole 6 by inwardly offset brackets 14, 15. A diagonal brace 12 extends from the outer end of the crossbar 10 to the binder and the inner end of the bar is attached to the binder by a link 18 and bar 19, the bar 19 being connected to the binder at the dead centre of the binder load. A bar 9 is secured to the cross-bar 10 at the point C and is attached at its forward end to the whipple tree 7. The point C is so fixed that there is sufficient room for the horses on the inner singletrees 21 between the pole 6 and the grain.
