Abstract

Distress car lamps are fixed to front and rear windscreens of a vehicle, using adhesive foam pads and left permanently in position. The lamps are connected so that they can be plugged into the cigarette lighter socket. When the driver of a vehicle requires help, the lamps are plugged into the socket, and the lamps flash, drawing attention from passers by.

Description

DISTRESS CAR LAMPS DISCl IION With reference to the accompanying drawings, this invention is a pair of lamps that can be easily fitted to the front and rear windscreen of a vehicle, using the adhesive foam pads (FIG 1 No. 2) and then left permanently in position. The front lens of each lamp (FIG 5 No. 11) is orange in colour and appears blank to an onlooker, drawing no attention When the driver of the vehicle needs help (eg. A Disabled person with a broken down vehicle, or a female driver in distress.) they simply plug in to a cigarette lighter socket and the front and rear lamps light up and flash. This reveals the writting, on the clear lens (FIG 5 No.10).
The disabled symbol is optional. This draws attention from passers by, saving time and possibly the life of a driver.
The lamps are conected together with athin cable (FIG 1 No. 4) of suitable length to reach between front and rear windscreens of all vehicles. Cable (FIG 1 No. 5) goes to a cigarette lighter plug with flasher unit.
(FIG 3 No. 7)are the screws securing the lamp body to the lens.
Replacement bulbs (FIG 5 No. 9) can be fitted without removing lamp body (FIG 1 No. 1) from windscreen, by removing bulb complete with bulb holder (FIG 3 No. 8).
Distress car lamps are bright enough to draw attention day or night when plugged in.
