The present invention relates to a versatile plugtype composite tool which is very easy to operate and can successly alter the mode of tool, in which, every mode of tool is designed in the way that the head of tool is connected to the rear end of the others and manufactured in a one-piece-shape in order to prevent the tool from being lost.
Nowadays, there are many kinds of tool available, for example, a most popular screw driver must be designed to meet the uses for different types and sizes element, or the technicians will be very troublesome in case of doing their jobs when they only use a piece of conventional screw driver which can only use for one size of screw to assemble or dismantle machines so as to find out and alter the appropriate screw driver.
In case of taking the wrong screw driver, it does not only waste time but also need to find out another appropriate screw driver and results in unpleasance and jobinterruption of workers.
Furthermore, it is needed to put all appropriate tools in a tool box or a tool bag, because all conventional tools are always designed in single unit (single function).
Owing to the mechanical tools being not always belong to a fixed part of the tool box or the tool bag, it is very easy to find out if the tool necessary for use is lost or not in the box or the bag and causes the interruption of jobs.
Knowing of the above-mentioned defects of the conventional tools, the inventor has done a series of researches and creates the present invention through accumulating a lot of experiences in manufacturing said tool.
The versatile plug-tye composite tool according to the present invention is designed to put many different kinds of mechanical tools in single unit by putting the front end of the tool into the rear end of another tool or embedding in an outer pipe to combine many tools of different type and usage into one body. Therefore, the continuous tool-alteration in tools used can be easily and pleasantly accomplished and makes the tool-alteration become a time-saving operation. This is an object of the present invention.
The versatile plug-type composite tool according to the present invention has many units, in which, every tool unit can be combined with the front tool one by one and the inner portion of the bottom ends is in hollow which matches with the front ends of tools and can accommodate the front end of tools so as to save the space occupied for storing the tools. This is another object of the present invention.
Because the versatile plug-type composite tool according to the present invention can put many tools in different type and usage into one body or embed into an outer pipe, the tools are free from being lost during operation and the user can quickly get the appropriate tool head in using. This is a further object of the present invention.

Figure 7 is a side elevation cross-sectional view of the example of the invention showing in Figure 5.
Figure 8A and 8B show the common method of use of the another example of the present invention showing in
Figure 5 and Figure 6.
As illustrated in Figures 1, 2 and 3, the present invention is formed by many separatable tool units, each of the tool unit of the present invention is consisted of a pipe body 1, an assembling taper 2 which is in hexagon and locates in the front of the body 1 and a tool head 3 which is connected to the taper 2, in which, the inner wall of the body 1 is furnished with a symmetrical hexagonal groove 4 matched with the taper 2. After assembling, there is no sliding or rotating effects in each unit due to resistance between the surface of the groove 4 and the taper 2.
Besides, there is an inclination on the engaging surface between the taper 2 and the groove 4. Therefore, the taper 2 is tapered and the inner wall of the groove 4 is also formed an inclination which can match with the surface of the taper 2 so as to secure the upper opening of the groove 4 in the state that is larger in outer and small in inner for accommodating another tool unit, as a result developping a tight locking strength due to inclination fit and makes the two tool units tightly connecting together for free from disengagement.
Referring again to Figures 1, 2 and 3, the taper 2 is formed at the front end-of the body 1 and with its surfaces fit the groove 4 of the inner wall of the body 1.
The inner portion of the rear end of the body 1 is furnished with an inward-extended hexagonal groove 4 with a matched inclination and depth for holding the head 3 of another tool so as to be free from sliding and the touching of the front portion of the body 1 to the rear end of the groove 4. Then, the body of the tool unit can link the body 1 of another tool unit.Meanwhile, the body 1 of the tool unit according to another practicing example of the present invention has a hexagonal groove bottom with it inside diameter be a little smaller than the outside diameter of the taper 2 located in front of the body 1 and the outer surface of the taper 2 can be furnished with material that has a little elasticity and large friction coefficency in order to develop locking and clamping strength at the taper 2 of another tool unit, resulted from the action of the groove 4, when both tool units are connected together, then, all tool units are connected among others and free from disengaging.
In case of using the versatile plug-type composite tool of the present invention, as shown in Figures 3, 4A and 4B, a number of tools are all connected to form a single body till the head of one tool unit is completely exposed out the front end of the body 1. Then, the head 3 exposed in front of the body 1 can be easily put into operation. In case of changing the usage of the head, it can be easily accomplished by pulling out the units before the unit to be used from the front end of the body 1 and plugging in the rear end of the body and then the new tool head be revealed for usage. Thus, the user can continuously change a variety of different tools during work.
As shown in Figures 5, 6 and 7, the another practicing example of the composite tool according to the present invention is consisted of an outer pipe 21, a top cover 24 which can be embedded on the top of the pipe 21 and a tool unit 23 accommodated inside the outer pipe 21 and furnished with symmetrical guiding grooves 210 on the inner wall of the pipe 21 for accommodating several tool units 23 which have the symmetrical convex protrusion 232A on surface. Having forming the cross-sectional locking strentgh by the fit of the protrusion 232A and the groove 210, the tool unit 23 can be positioned on the fixed position.
Besides, the top end of the pipe 21 has a convex 211 which can be locked with the cover 24, the front end of the pipe 21 is in outward-tapered state, the cover 24 is in short tubular shape, in which, the inner wall is furnished with a concave groove 241 which is matched with the top surface of the pipe 21. The top opening of the cover 24 is in the state that is larger in outer and small in inner so as to accomodate the tool unit 23.
As shown in Figures 5, 6 and 7, the tool unit 23 is consisted of a supporting pipe body 230 and the tool head 235, in which, the front end 231 of the supporting pipe body 23d is almost in conical shape, the surface of the straight pipe 232 is furnished with the protrusion 232A which is matched with the guiding groove 210 of the inner wall of the pipe 21, the pipe 232 of the unit 23 is inwardly extended at the end portion t form the engaging groove 233 which is in stepwise shape to accommodate the head of another tool unit and allow the front end of the body 230 of the tool unit touching the rear end of the groove 233 so as to insert the unit 23 into the pipe 21.It is especially indicated that the outside diameter of the front conical end base of the supporting pipe body 230 of the tool unit 23 is a little larger than the inside diameter of the front end of the pipe 21 and the pipe 21 is made of a slightly elastic material so as to allow the front end of the body 230 which is partially revealed from the pipe 21 is going to be hold by the front end of the outer pipe and keeps the units 23 from moving backwardly.
In case of using the composite tool according to the above shown embodiment of the present invention, as shown in Figures. 7, 8A and 8B, a number of the units 23 is previously inserted from the rear end of the pipe 21 one by one until a front conical portion of the supporting pipe body 230 of the unit is revealled from the front end of the pipe 21. Therefore, the tool head at the front portion of revealled pipe 21 is ready for using. In case of changing the tool head during work, it is easily accomplished by pulling the unit 23 from the front end of the pipe 21 and plugging it into the pipe 21 from its rear end to extrude the tool head. Repeating the above procedure continuously, the user can easily get the different tool needed.
As above mentioned, the present invention is surely superior to the conventional tools in quality. It is not only easy to compact and time-saving in operation but also in changing the tool units by previously inserting the tool units necessary and preventing the tools from being lost. It is surely a valuable and practical invention.
