Abstract

A filter comprises a stopper section 04 which fits tightly into a wine bottle in place of the original cork and enables the wine to be poured through filter mesh 02, while air enters the bottle by inlet 03, thus removing any pieces of damaged cork from the wine. A cap 05 fits over the filter to seal the bottle after use. <IMAGE>

Description

DECORKA The Decorka filter unit is a small item that fits to the top end of a bottle of wine etc., and filters out any pieces of cork and/or sediment contained floating within.
The Decorka will have the benefit of delivering a glass of wine free from any pieces of cork and/or sediment.
Once fitted the unit need not be removed again until the wine is finished. This will be of benefit to people who find that the cork is not easy to replace and/or remove, or find that they have damaged the cork on removal to the extent that it cannot be used.
(In most cases leaving cork floating around in the wine.) The benefit of having advertising space on the unit for the wine producers/exporters/importers etc., would act as a promotional attraction.
Decorka.
The Decorka filter unit comprises: * Filter * Filter body * An Air hole * Grip * Connector with ribs * Snap shut connector * Cap The Filter is found at the top end of the filter body,the Filter (or Filter Element) can be removed from the filter body for ease of cleaning.
The Air hole allows the wine to flow freely through the filter and may vary in its shape.
The Grip allows you to push the unit into the bottle with a little more ease and also completes the aesthetic appea -rance of the unit when the Cap is replaced.
The Connector has ribs to help prevent the leaking of liquid.(Ribs may or may not be used iL the various models) The Snap shut connector(s) are to seal the cap to the filter body firmlyso there is no fear of the liquid escaping.
The complete unit may be moulded in plastic,or plastic and rubber,or glass etc.

Claims (1)

  1. (1) An attachable filter unit comprising of a filter, to stop pieces of cork or sediment, but allow the liquid to pass through; an air inlet, allowing the free flow of liquid through the unit and the filter mesh; a connector for fitting to a bottle securely; a cap to reseal the bottle after use.
    (2) An attachable filter unit as claimed in claim 1, where an air inlet is provided as a means of allowing the liquid to flow through the unit and the filter with ease.
    (3) An attachable filter unit as claimed in claim 1 and claim 2, where in a ribbed (or similar) connector is provided at the opposite end to the filter so the unit can be securely fitted to a bottle.
    (4) An attachable filter unit as claimed in claim 1, claim 2 and claim 3, is provided with a cap which snaps onto (or by similar method the filter body and seals the unit after use, thus preventing the liquid escaping.
    (5) An attachable filter unit as claimed in claim 1 to claim 4 where just over a semi-circle of filter mesh (amount may vary) is provided.
    (6)~ An attachable filter unit as claimed in claim 1 to claim 5 where in the filter mesh element can be removed and replaced by means of a snap-in method (or similar not shown) or can be a fixed item that may not be removed.
    (7) An attachable filter unit substantially as described herein with reference to figures 1-4 of the accompanying drawings.
