Description

GAME This invention relates to a game in which one player attempts to match a selection of symbols or characters set up by another player.
In accordance with this invention, there is provided a game comprising a plurality of sets of symbols or characters, one set for each player, such that one player can make a selection of symbols or characters using his set without the other or next player seeing and so that said other or next player can then attempt to set up a matching selection using his own set of symbols or characters.
The game provides a test of any extra-sensory perception (ESP) which the players may have, or otherwise amounts to a game of chance.
An embodiment of this game will now be described by way of example only with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIGURE 1 is a perspective view of the components of the game set out for play; and FIGURES 2 and 3 show two examples of sequences of cubes for the challenging and opposing or challenged players.
In the example shown in the drawings, the game comprises a board 10 marked with a star-shaped centre 12 providing a "bank". It further comprises six sets of cubes 14, each set comprising six identical cubes with a different symbol or character on each of its six faces. A cube holder 16 is provided for each set of cubes, so that each player may arrange his cubes (to select the sequence of symbols facing front-on) without the other players seeing. In the example shown, each holder is in the shape of a rectangular box with two adjacent sides removed. The game further comprises six balls 18 bearing respective ones of the six symbols found on each cube, and a container 19 for these balls.
Also, the game comprises a quantity (e.g. 60) tokens each of e.g. 10 points value, and these are shown in stacks 20 in Figure 1. The six cube holders are marked with different ones of the six symbols. The board is marked with six triangular areas 22, forming banks for the individual players, with these six banks marked with different ones of the six symbols.
The game which is shown can be played by 2 - 6 players. The game commences with each player putting ten tokens (100 points) into the central bank 12 of the board. Each player selects a cube holder 16 and six symbol cubes. The order of play is determined by each player drawing one of the symbol balls 18 at random out of its container 19.
Whoever's holder the symbol on the ball matches, will be first to play. The remaining playing sequence can be determined by drawing the balls again from this container.
On each turn, the player draws a ball from the container, the symbol on this ball determining the opposing player to be challenged. However, this step is unnecessary if only two are playing.
The objective is for the player, whose turn it is, to try and arrange his cubes so as to match the symbols of the challenged player's cubes, in the correct sequence.
The challenging player does this after the challenged player has arranged his cubes as he pleases.
Points are awarded to the challenging player (i.e.
the player whose turn it is) as follows. Each symbol which he lines up correctly earns him one token (10 points), which he takes from the central bank and places into his own bank 22. If the player fails to line up any of his six cubes correctly, he must return any token which he has won to the central bank, and the "challenged" player is awarded one token from the central bank.
The first player to accumulate 100 points in his bank is the winner of the game. Alternatively, if any player correctly lines up say the first five or all six of the opposing player's cubes, then he is automatically declared the winner.
Figure 2 shows an example of a challenging player achieving a match of three of his symbols to the cubes of the opposing player, giving him a score of 3 tokens (30 points). Figure 3 shows an example of the challenging player failing to achieve any match at all, so scoring zero points and the opposing player being awarded one token (10 points).
