Abstract

The pool table lifting device is a base A mounted upon four swivel wheels upon which is welded two scissor jacks B with cross members affixed to the top of each jack C. When the lifting device is wheeled beneath the underside of a billiard or pool table, the screw jacks are operated by means of an extended key (D, fig 2), allowing the cross members to rise in height and to contact, and lift, the underside, and consequently the fixed legs of the billiard or pool table. The lifting action is then continued until the fixed legs of the table are judged to be clear of the floor or floor covering. The billiard or pool table may then be pushed to another location using physical effort by running upon the four swivel wheel fixed to the base of the device. When the desired location is achieved, the screw jacks are lowered, thus permitting the billiard or pool table to stand again in its new position on it's own fixed legs. Description

POOL TABLE LIFTING DEVICE This invention relates to a device for lifting Billiard and Pool tables to permit ease of movement in relocation of such tables on-site.

The games of Billiards and Pool are played on heavy tables, usually with a bed of slate which is covered with green baize.

These tables are supported at a convenient height for the progression of the game on fixed legs made of metal or wood. Any relocation of these heavy tables on-site presents a difficult and heavy lifting problem.

This invention provides for billiard and pool tables to be moved with reduced physical effort by lifting the fixed legs of these tables from the floor using two scissor jacks mounted upon a wheeled base. By the operation of the scissor jacks, two legs are lifted @@@burn by supporting bar affixed to the top of each jack until tile fixed legs of the table are safely clear of he floor and floor covering. When tlse table is lifted to the required height at both ends, it may then be moved upon the wheeled base of the device in a safe manner and with reduced physical effort.

Upon achieving relocation, the scissor jacks are lowered, permitting the table's fixed legs to again support the full weight of the table.

A specific illustration of the invention will now be described in the accompanying drawing.

Claims

1. The Pool Table Lifting Device comprises a welded base mounted upon four swivel wheels, one at each corner. Two scissor jacks are welded in a vertical position upon the base at a distance which permits support bars welded to the top of the jacks to lift a billiard or pool table when the jacks are operated.

2. The positioning of the two scissor jacks welded to the base as in Claim 1 are claimed as being located so as to give visual and easy access to the operating mechanism of each jack.

3. The scissor jacks as in Claim 1 & 2 are claimed to have support bars welded across the top of each jack of a length and strength capable of lifting a billiard or pool table in a safe and efficient manner.

4. The extended tool used to operate the scissor jacks as in Claim 2 & 3 is claimed as of a length that the jacks may be operated from a safe working distance, and not below the lifted table, thus reducing the chance of accident in the event of failure of a jack mechanism.
