Abstract

A laundry detergent composition comprises at least one surface active agent and a polyvinylpyrrolidone having a molecular weight greater than 1,000,000. The high molecular weight PVP is particularly effective for scavenging dye during washing and preventing its redeposition on other garments in the same wash load. An optional further component is a cellulase.
