Abstract
A Security device e.g:- a driveway security lock comprising a hollow section "sleeve" (3) a second capped hollow section "post" (1) which is elevated through 90 degrees, upon reaching the vertical position, the post is then slid down predetermined by the two slots (8) incorporated in the said post when used in conjunction with the static fulcrum (5) in the sleeve. A flat bar (4) is incorporated inside the post which is in turn fastened by means of a pivot action on the fulcrum attached to the sleeve. The post will travel independently of this flat bar in an upward and downward motion. When the post is in the raised position the said post and independent bar may travel through 90 degrees to the horizontal. The post may then be locked through the internal flat bar. When the post is raised through an angle of 90 degrees to the vertical position it is then lowered into the sleeve independently of the flat bar, the plunger type lock (2) will then align with the receptive hole in the flat bar allowing the locking mechanism to operate. <IMAGE>
Description
DRIVEWAY SECURITY DEVICE
This invention relates to a driveway security device.
Security posts are well known devices which comprise a structure of round or hollow section steel tube.
There is a certain type of post which is hinged to a plate which is in turn fastened secure to the ground.
The post when in the vertical position provides a blockade and when lay on the ground enables entry and exit. when in the vertical (or blockade) position the devise may be locked by means of a padlock or similar.
According to the present invention there is a driveway security device, comprising of a sleeve in the form of a hollow section tube which incorporates a pin (FULCRUM), a second hollow section tube (POST) which slides into the aforementioned sleeve.
The "Post" incorporates two slots when used in conjunction with the pin (FULCRUM) allows an upward and downward sliding motion also allowing a pivot action when in the uppermost position using the pin as a fulcrum.
A specific embodiment of ne invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which
FIG 1 Shows a cross section of the driveway security device in the locked
position.
FIG 2 Shows a cross section of the driveway security device in rhe unlocked
position.
FIG 3 shows a cross section of the driveway security device in the locked
Exit and entry" position.
Referring to the drawing, the driveway security comprises a hollow section "sleeve" 3, which encases a second hollow section "post" 1, which in turn incorporates a plunger type lock 2, a pivoting" flat bar 4, a fulcrum (pin) 5, a guide 6, a cap 7 and two slots 8.
In order to extract the post 1, from the sleeve 3, the post will be drawn in an upward direction providing the lock is in the unlocked position.
Claims (4)
1. A driveway security device comprising of sliding inner hollow section tube
incorporating a plunger type lock, a pivoting flat bar (Locking mechanism)
and a sleeve in the form of a larger hollow section tube.
2. A driveway security device as claimed in claim 1, wherein an inner hollow
section tube can be slid in an upward direction from within a larger hollow
section tube and laid to rest at a 90 degree angle to the larger hollow
section tube.
3. A driveway security device as claimed in claim , or claim 2, wherein a
plunger type lock is provided to lock the inner hollow section tube in the
barricade position.
4. A driveway security device substantially as described herein with reference
to figures 1 to 3 of the accompanying drawings.
