Abstract
A device for discharging hot air from a vehicle comprises a pipe (212) extending from an opening (20) communicating with the interior of the vehicle to an outlet coupler (213) communicating with environment. A fan device (30) adjacent the opening (20) is able to draw air from the interior of the vehicle. A check valve (214) prevents reverse flow of air into the pipe. A sensor is disposed in the vehicle for detecting the temperature of the vehicle and for actuating the fan when the vehicle reaches a predetermined high temperature. <IMAGE>
Description
AIR CONDITIONING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
The present invention relates to an air conditioning device, and more particularly to an air conditioning device for vehicle.
Typical vehicles may be heated when parking outside for a while, such that the drivers may feel uncomfortable when the vehicle is heated. Most of the drivers may open the doors of vehicle and start the engine in order to actuate the conventional air conditioner in order to cool the vehicle before driving the vehicle. This consumes much energy.
The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional vehicles.
The primary aim of the present invention is to provide an air conditioning device for discharging hot air in the vehicle and for cooling vehicle.
In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is provided an air conditioning device for discharging hot air in an interior of a vehicle, the air conditioning device comprising an opening for communicating with the interior of the vehicle, an outlet hole, pipe means coupling the opening to the outlet hole for communicating the interior of the vehicle with outside of the vehicle, fan means engaged in the opening for drawing and discharging air in the interior of the vehicle, means for energizing the fan means, check valve means engaged in the pipe means for allowing outlet flow of air and for preventing reverse flow of air into the pipe means, and means for actuating the fan means.
The actuating means may include a temperature detecting means for detecting temperature of the interior of the vehicle in order to actuate the fan means when the interior of the vehicle reaches a predetermined temperature.
An embodiment of the present invention will be described hereinbelow by way of example only with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating the application of the air conditioning device in accordance with the present invention;
FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view illustrating the operation of the air conditioning device;
FIGS. 3 and 4 are block diagrams illustrating the operation of the air conditioning device; and
FIG. 5 is a perspective view illustrating another application of the air conditioning device.
Referring to the drawings, and initially to FIGS.
1 to 3, an air conditioning device in accordance with the present invention comprises an opening 20 formed in a board 11 for attaching speakers, for example, the opening 20 communicates with the interior of the vehicle 10. The board 11 is located in the rear portion of the vehicle. A housing 21 is secured to the bottom of the board 11 and includes an outlet 215 coupled to one end of a pipe 212. An annular flange 210 is formed in the middle portion of the housing 21, and a space 211 is formed below the flange 210. A fan device 30 is disposed in the housing 21 and located above the annular flange 210 for drawing hot air in the vehicle and for discharging the hot air. The bottom plate 13 of the vehicle normally includes a water draining hole or an outlet hole 130 which is normally enclosed with a plug.A coupler 213 includes an end portion 2121 engaged in the hole 130 and includes an annular flange 2122 for engaging with the plate 13. The other end 2120 of the pipe 212 is coupled to the coupler 213. A check valve 214 is engaged in the coupler 213 for allowing outlet flow of air only and for preventing reverse flow of air into the pipe 212.
, An electric power source, such as solar battery 40 is disposed around the opening 20 for energizing the fan device 30, and a switch 50 is disposed beside the battery 40 for manually controlling the fan device 30.
As shown in FIG. 4, the switch 50 may include a sensor 51 for sensing light or temperature and coupled to the fan device 30 for actuating the fan device 30 when light is detected or when a predetermined temperature is detected, such that hot air in the vehicle may be automatically drawn out by the fan device 30 when the temperature inside the vehicle reaches the predetermined temperature. Another sensor 52 may further be provided for sensing the operation of the engine so as to actuate the fan device 30 for discharging hot air in the vehicle. The fan device may be-switched off manually with the switch 50. The fan device 30 may also be coupled to and energized by the battery 14 of the vehicle or by another battery 41.A feed back circuit 42 is disposed between the battery 41 and the generator 15 of the vehicle for charging the battery 41, and a detecting means 43 may be provided for detecting the operation of the engine and for charging the battery 41. Another switch may further be provided to cut off the devices connected to the battery 14.
Referring next to FIG. 5, instead of coupling to the coupler 213, the other end 2120 of the pipe 212 may be coupled to the hole 161 of a cap 160 of a casing 16 for discharging purposes.
Accordingly, the air conditioning device in accordance with the present invention may discharge hot air in the vehicle.
Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detailed construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the
scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
Claims (3)
1. An air conditioning device for discharging hot air in an interior of a vehicle, said air conditioning device comprising:
an opening for communicating with said interior of said vehicle, an an outlet hole, pipe means coupling said opening to said outlet hole for communicating said interior of said vehicle with outside of said vehicle,
fan means engaged in said opening for drawing and discharging air in said interior of said vehicle,
means for energizing said fan means,
check valve means engaged in said pipe means for allowing outlet flow of air and for preventing reverse flow of air into said pipe means, and
means for actuating said fan means.
2. An air conditioning device according to claim 1, wherein said actuating means includes a temperature detecting means for detecting temperature of said interior of said vehicle in order to actuate said fan means when said interior of said vehicle reaches a predetermined temperature.
