Abstract

A hygiene accessory comprises a pocket sized container having two compartments (12, 13) wherein one compartment (13) is adapted to contain an antiseptic spray (17) and the second (12) is adapted to contain tissue wipes (15) in roll or concertina arrangement. A pump mechanism (18) actuated by a trigger (22) forces air into the compartment (13) so that antiseptic flows through a tube (19) to a spray nozzle (20). The accessory is used for cleaning toilet seats. <IMAGE>

Description

HYGIENE ACCESSORY This invention concerns a hygiene accessory and more particularly one for personal use in cleaning the seat of a public toilet.
For many years the general public have been obliged to use public toilets, many of which fall below their own standard of hygiene, without access to any cleaning aids.
Cleaning aids generally available comprise household or industrial agents in large containers which are not suitable to carry around for use when confronted with a less than hygienic public toilet.
The present invention overcomes, at least to some extent, the problems aforesaid.
According to the present invert ion there is provided a hygiene accessory comprising a pocket sized container having two compartments wherein one compartment is adapted to contain an antiseptic spray and the second is adapted to contain tissue wipes.
The compartment containing antiseptic spray may include a pump action mechanism wherein the compartment is squeezed or a trigger is depressed to spray a required amount of antiseptic spray over the seat of a public toilet. It is envisaged that the compartment will hold around 50 to 100 ml of antiseptic liquid.
The compartment containing tissue wipes may comprise a roll or concertina arrangement of wipes.
The tissue wipes may be dry or may be pre-soaked in the same or different antiseptic as the antiseptic spray.
The tissue wipes may be perforated so that on pulling a wipe from the compartment the tip of a second wipe is made available and so on until the wipes are exhausted. It is envisaged that the container will hold approximately 50 to 100 wipes, each being about the same size as a piece of toilet tissue. The wipes may be used to wipe the toilet seat and/or hands of the user before and/or after using the toilet.
The device may be made of plastic and made in two halves or may be an integral moulding.
The accessory may be made to throw away once the contents are exhausted, or may be made so that it can be re-filled and therefore re-used.
The invention will be further apparent from the following description with reference to the single figure of the accompanying drawing, which shows, by way of example only, a front view of one form of the hygiene accessory embodying same.
Referring now to the drawing, it can be seen that the accessory 11 comprises two compartments 12 and 13. Compartment 12 has a flip lid 14 which is opened to accesss antiseptic tissue wipes 15. The wipes 15 are in the form of a continuous sheet perforated at regular intervals so that pulling a wipe from the accessory 11 also pulls through the tip of the next wipe and so on.
The accessory 11 has a dividing wall 16 separating the two compartments 12 and 13. Compartment 13 contains antiseptic liquid 17 and a pump mechanism 18 such that on depression of the trigger 22, air is forced into the ullage which in turn forces antiseptic liquid 17 up through hollow tube 19 and out cf nozzle 20.
The outer edge 21 of trigger 22 may be moulded to fit the shape of a hand grip for ccmfort and ease of pumping.
The accessory 11 is pocket sized for easy concealment in the pocket of a coat or trousers or ladies handbag. Upon entering a public toilet the user sprays the toilet seat with the antiseptic liquid 17 and wipes the seat either with an antiseptic wipe or with toilet tissue. The user may also want to wipe his/her hands before and/or after using the toilet with an antiseptic wipe.
The device of the present invention thus maintains personal hygiene in the most unhygienic public places.
It will be appreciated that it is not intended to limit the invention to the above example only, many variations, such as might readily occur to one skilled in the art, being possible, without departing from the scope thereof.

Claims (7)
