Abstract

227,197. Burrow, H. S. Oct. 11, 1923. Couplings, disconnectible. -Relates to a hose coupling of the kind having spring controlled catches L carried d in diagonally opposed arms F on the female member A. The catches L and their supporting arms F are carried by a sleeve E, which is rotatably mounted on the enlarged outer end D of the female member A, the catches L engaging with a pair of openings C formed in the said end D. Four, six, or any larger even number of openings C are provided in such a manner that, when the hose shows signs of wear along the folded edges, the catches L may be pulled out to their fullest extent and the sleeve E rotated until the catches register with the next pair of holes C. When the hose is rolled up again, it will flatten out with new parts forming the edges.
