Abstract

213,409. Horton, W. T., and Cassey, W. March 8, 1923. Curtains, suspending; brackets.-Means for suspending curtains and' valances comprise brackets b each of which is provided, between its ends, with a socket or hole c for receiving one end of a curtain rod. The outer end of the bracket is formed with a ledge b' to support a valance tape which may comprise two lengths of tape joined by a coil spring, the free ends of the tape being knotted and secured in key-hole slots b<2> in the brackets. The socket c may be integral with the bracket or formed as a loose sleeve adapted to be passed on to the rod and screwed on a boss on the bracket in a known manner. For use at the angles of bay windows the brackets are provided with two rod receiving sockets c pivoting on vertical axes as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the outer part f of the bracket being pivoted to the main portion b and formed as a hook f to support the valance tape. According to the Provisional Specification the key-hole slots b<2> are replaced by hooks or rings to which the tape is tied, and the brackets may be arranged to support a valance rod instead of a valance tape.
