Abstract
213,001. Laws, F. C. V., and Stringer, H. B. Dec. 22, 1922. Cameras for taking a series of photographs on one plate; surveying and aeronautical apparatus. -A photographic camera is constructed with two or more lenses having one or more inclined mirrors, reflecting prisms, &c. for taking two or more photographs of objects situated in different directions, and a shutter arrangement or arrangements for providing simultaneous exposure from all the view points. The mirrors &c. may be arranged in front of or behind the lenses according as these are directed in the same or in different directions. In one form, Figs. 1 and 3, for taking five photographs simultaneously on a single plate channels formed by screens 11 extend between each lens 7 and the plate. An inclined mirror 12 which may be of stainless steel is pivotally attached to a turntable sleeve 16 in front of each of the outer lenses so that both its inclination and direction can be adjusted. The lenses are provided with between-lens shutters which are set and released simultaneously. The shutter setting levers 23 of the outer lenses are actuated by spring controlled levers 22 mounted on links 19 pivotally connected by bell-crank levers 18 pivoted on pillars 17 on the lens-supporting diaphragm 9. The links 19 are moved by a Bowden wire 26 attached to one of the links, against the tension of a spring 28, and their return movement can be altered by means of an adjustable stop 29. An arm 30 extending from one of the links 19 actuates the, shutter setting lever 23 of the central lens. The shutters are simultaneously released by moving, by means of a Bowden or like wire 42, a wedge 37, controlled bv a spring 38, up against a pin 41 attached to the main release lever 35, five adjustable screws 34, Fig. 4, on which are then pressed into engagement with the plungers 33 connected to the free ends of Bowden wires 31 connected to the shutters. Other forms of shutter for use behind the lens and in front of the plate, such as that described in Specification 213,018 may be employed.
