Description
SPECIFICATION
A safety closure device for coin operated machines
The present invention refers to a safety closure device for coin operated machines which solves a generic problem existing in this type of machines, where the profits thereof have to be divided between the manufacturer of the machine and the tenant who contributes the premises but who is not the owner of the machine and who frequently shares the premises.
Thus, it is not strange that there are disagreements between all the interested parties which cause continuous distrusts among them leading to mutual accusations.
Hence, it is clear that the best guarantee of continuity is that of insuring the inviolability of the takings, providing the machine with a safety closure which will only be opened in the presence of the interested parties or the persons representing them, therefore constituting a joint declaration of the takings.
The closure device in question has two main features: strength and simplicity, which qualities, together with the complete reliability of the device, make it ideal for the purpose for which it is designed.
The device in question consists of an ascending and descending slide provided with a plurality of hooks in the passage of which there are disposed coupling cases, which slide is supported in the profile of a cam having two end positions situated inside the receptacle, secured to a rod which is a continuation of the cylinder of a safety lock.
The described characteristics will be represented in the attached sheet of drawings illustrating a mode of embodiment which, without limiting the practical possibilities of the invention, serves to make reference to the different parts of the device in question.
Figures 1, 2 and 3 illustrate profile, elevational and plan views, respectively, of the main pairs of the device.
Referring to the drawings, the device comprises an ascending and descending slide 1 which is situated at the support side of the cabinet, said slide, provided with elongated holes, moves guided in the supports to which it is joined.
The slide is provided with the hooks 2 in the passage of which, fixed to the door, there are disposed the coupling cases 3.
The centre of the slide is supported in the profile of the cam 4 which has two end positions 6 and 7 from which, in one case, the hooks 2 are freed from the coupling cases 3, leaving the door free, while in the other they are secured.
The profile of the cam is joined to the safety lock 5, whose reliability characteristics are suitable for the assembly to which it is incorporated.
The assembly can readily and rapidly be mounted and dismounted, i.e. a few operations are needed and the costs are low; the dual position of the cam insures the system against the action of levers and the various coupling points prevent a possible point of support in the event of a forced opening.
