Abstract

The device for cooling a conical wall of a shaft furnace is comprised of packets mounted along the wall of the furnace. Each of said packets comprises two rows of refractory bricks (2) of equal size with semicircular hollows forming a channel. A cooling tube (1) is arranged in the channel. There is a gap appearing between the packets which varies with the height of a packet in conformity with a slope of the furnace wall, which is filled up with insertions consisting of refractory material.
