211,867. Pichler, J., (Assignee of Inventa Ges.). Feb. 19, 1924. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Peeling fruit.-A machine for peeling fruit comprises a base plate 1, provided with a clamping- screw 2; standards 3, 4; a shaft 6, having a turning-ha,ndle 5 and fruit-engaging projections 7, journaled in the standard 3; and a spring-controlled spindle 9, slidable in the standard 4, provided with a sharpened point between which point and the projections 7 the fruit is held. The knife 16 is pressed resiliently against the fruit bv a spring band 11, hinged at 10 to the standard 3 and threaded through a slot in a pivoted block 12 carried by the spindle 9. A spring 13 tends to move the band toward the fruit. A slotted member 14 is slidable on the band 11 and is provided with a stud 15 carrying the handle 17 of the knife 16, a rear support 18 carrying a ball 19 resting on the base plate.
