211,371. Imray, O. Y., (Aquazone Corporation). April 17,1923. Air and gases, treating with liquids. -Apparatus for the liquid treatment of gases under pressure comprises a washing-chamber and a treating- chamber connected by a valved passage which opens into a gas-distributor and has a branch leading to the upper part of the treating-chamber. Gas is forced by the pump 19 by way of pipe 18 to the washing-chamber 15 and thence to the gas-distributor 12 in the treating-chamber 10, the valve 35 in the branch 33 being normally closed. The treating-chamber is filled with liquid through the pipes 25, 26, the valve 29 being normally closed. A filter 27 may be inserted in the pipe 25. Gas is passed into the treating-chamber until any desired pressure has been attained, after which the valve 40 is opened to permit the continuous escape of surplus gas. A safety-valve may replace the valve 40. The liquid is discharged through pipe 26 by the pressure of the gas, the valves 35, 29 being open and the valves 32, 28 shut.
