Abstract
211,102. Hendler, O. Feb. 10, 1923, [Convention date]. Cigar and cigarette holders.- After insertion into the holder b the cigar or cigarette is resiliently held by a sleeve e of rubber or the like. The sleeve is thinned down at its inner end, where it engages a conical seating f in a fitment c. A cap d screwed upon the member c has a shoulder i abutting against the sleeve e, so that screwing down the cap d causes the lower end of the sleeve e to grip the cigarette or cigar. The fitment c may be dispensed with and the conical seating f formed in the holder itself. In this case the cap d is provided with a longitudinally-slotted sliding sleeve which engages the exterior of the holder resiliently. The outer end of the cap may be turned in over the end of the sleeve e. In a further modification, the cap d is screwed upon the holder b and the sleeve e replaced by a resilient ring of approximately circular cross-section which is compressed between the shoulder i and the end of the holder. A pad of wadding may be placed in the space a.
