Abstract

A spill condition venting system for a double containment tank for controlling a spill or an overflow of fluid into the annulus of such double containment tank comprises an overflow pipe 82 which conducts liquid to the base of the annulus and a vapour duct 130 for conducting the vapour formed by the vapourisation of the liquid at the base of the annulus back up to the top of the annulus and into the ullage space of the tank where it is disposed of by the vapour control system associated with the inner tank. <IMAGE>
