Abstract

A soft toy, e.g. a dog-like figure, is formed of an unstuffed piece of fibrous material, e.g. man made or sheepskin, with a piece of leather covering the head area. Eyes, nose and tongue are secured by threaded stems passing through holes in the figure and retained by threaded washers, which are then heat sealed to prevent removal. A piece of leather conceals the washers. Selected strands of the fibrous material can be dyed to form eye brows. The fibrous material body, except the head area, can be formed with a longitudinal fold, retained by glue or stitching.

WRIGGLIEDOG cut from natural sheepskin to sizes shown in Figure No:5. The EYES and NOSE are moulded with screw-threaded stems. They are inserted through holes punched in the skin. They are locked with threaded retaining washers, which are heat-sealed to prevent removal. The Underside of the skin, in the area ofthe head is then covered in Leather, to conseal the 'locking washers'. The skin is then folded along its length, to within 35mm ofthe tip of the head. It is then Glued and/or Stitched, to retainthefold. (see Figure No:6)Thisfolding operation enables a 'wrigglie' animal to have lateral movement along its length. The WRIGGLIE DOG is finished with a BOW on its Head. (see Figure No:7) For a General View see Figure No:8.
