218,816. Douglas, M. E. R. June 14, 1923. Bedsteads fitted with tables and drawers ; bedsteads convertible into seats.-An article of furniture for use as a bedstead or as a sofa, and of the type in which cupboards or drawers are fitted in the underframe, has one end of the mattress hinged and adjustably supported to form a back rest. As shown in Fig. 2, the hinged back rest 16 is supported by a flap 17 adjustable along a rack 18. The space beneath the top frame 1 is occupied by a centre drawer 9, and the end spaces 10, 11 by other drawers, or fall-down doors 14, 15- may be fitted to form cupboards. A sliding shelf 21 to form a bedside table is mounted in transverse guides in the framing.
