Abstract

The tool comprises a hollow tube 1 having one end cut off at an angle so as to support a cutting blade 2 which is fixed centrally across the end of the tube. The end of a plastic pipe 3 which has been cut can be pushed into the tube and then rotated so as to form a chamfered edge on the pipe as it is cut by the edge 5 of the blade. <IMAGE>

SPECIFICATION Plastic pipe trimming tool This invention relates to a tool fortrimming the end of a plastic pipe.
According to the invention there is provided a trimming tool fortrimming the end of a plastic pipe and comprising a hollow tube having a fixed blade set at an angle at one end so asto allow a chamfered edge to be cut on the plastic pipe as it is rotated inside the hollow tube.
In the example shown in the accompanying drawings: Figures 1 to 3 comprise side, top and end elevations respectively of the tool; Figure 4 is a section through a blade of thetool; and Figure 5 il lustrates the tool in use.
The tool consists of a hollow tube 1 with a blade 2 set atone end. The idea of the tool isto bevel the end of a plastic pipe 3 so that it may be inserted into joining pipe sections without damaging seals, etc.
This is done by insertingthe plastic pipe 3 inthrough the bottom end 4 of the tool 1, pressing againstthe cutting edge 5 of the blade 2 and rotating the pipe 3.

According to the invention there is provided a trimming tool fortrimming the end of a plastic pipe and comprising a hollow tube having a fixed blade set at an angle at one end so asto allow a chamfered edge to be cut on the plastic pipe as it is rotated inside the hollow tube.
