Abstract

A dispensing pump for a highly viscous liquid, i.e. sauce, which can befitted into a flange of a bag is disclosed. The bag would be similar to the types used in wines or beers bag-in-box containers. The pump is attached to the bag by shank A and comprises a bellows B, a diaphragm inlet check valve D and a spring biased outlet check valve E. It is operated by pressing on the outlet end of the bellows at H and refills by the elastic recovery of the bellows. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION High viscous liquid dispenser bellows type This invention relates to a dispenser for high viscous liquids, i.e. sauces.
The trend isto supply high viscous liquids in bulk packaging. In some cases high viscous liquids such as sauces would be supplied in bag-in-box dispensers. To dispense from a bag-in-box can be inconvenient and messy and if the dispenser allows air into the sauce this will then solidify.
The invention refers to a dispenser which will fit into the flange of a bag and dispense a measured amount of liquid. The bag and flange could besim ilarto the types being used for wines and beers.
Aspecific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which: Figure 1 shows the dispenserwith connecting tube A, which pushes into the bag flange, a bellows B,the outlet tu be C, diaphragm valve D and sprung outlet valve E, inlet F and outlet G.
Referring to the drawing, the invention comprises of a body which has a connecting tube Fwhich fits into the flange of a bag and an outlet G through which the sauce leaves the dispenser. By pushing on the outlet tube Cat position H the bellows is depressed. When released the bellows springs backto its' normal position and sucks sauce from the bag through diaphragm valve D into the bellows. When pressure is again exerted at point H the bellows coilapses forcing any sauce within the bellows past valve E through outlet G. When pressure is released valve E closes, the bellows springs backto its' normal position and in doing so sucks the sauce through diaphragm valve D again filling the bellows.
1. A high viscous liquid, i.e. sauce, dispenser which dispenses from a bag-in-box container.
2. A high viscous liquid, i.e. sauce, dispenser as in Claim 1 which dispenses a measured amount of liquid.
3. A high viscous liquid, i.e. sauce, dispenser as in Claim 1 which sealsthe container after dispensing.
4. A high viscous liquid, i.e. sauce, dispenser as in Claim 1 which dispenses with a minimum amount of waste and mess.
