Description
SPECIFICATION
A novel name card with detachable strip
This invention relates to a novel name card with detachable strip; the detachable strip is substantially a strip or strips being detachably adhered to a suitable part of the primary card ofthe name card according to the present invention. Since the detachable strip can be separated from the primary card, it is convenient to a user to re-arrange and to re-locate name cards.
Sincetoday is an "Information" time, our human civilization has been advanced swiftly never before by the computer information means; as a result, we have faced a major problem that howwecan transmit and store swiftly and accuratelythe unlimited volume of information. Usually, a popular and better waxy of passing a person's information such as name, address and telephone numberto other person isto send him a name card.
The conventional name card having a suitable size with a necessary information being clearly printed thereon is considered as an ideal means to transmit information; however, as soon as the name cards are accumulated to a considerable number, the problem of systematically arranging and referring to the cards will become serious and inconvenient, and the function ofthe name cards would be reduced relatively.
Usually, the name cards collected are filed in a name card holder according to their classification for later reference. Upon the name cards being increased, the name card holders will also be increased relatively; in that case, it would be rather difficu It to find out a name card desired. During travelling for business activities, it would be more inconvenient to a person to carry a lot of name card holder. Of course, the name cards required may be copied with handwriting, but errors and unclear writing can be caused from timetotime as a result of handwriting. In other words, the conventional name card do have their disadvantages in daily use. Then, in principle, the secondary strip has to be thin and small in size for practical purpose; however, a very thinsecondarystrip isratherdifficultto handling, and issusceptibleto rolling up ordeforming, or being difficult to separate from the card; in that case, the secondary strip becomes a waste matter. Since the secondary strip is small, it is rather difficult to pick up with fingers; further, the sweatand miscellaneous stuffs may also affect the adhesine force ofthe strip that is required to be attached to the card. In order to solve the aforesaid problems, the secondary strip is usually lifted with finger nails ora small knife, but it is notthe bestway.Anothername cards design one edge of the adhesive strip is furnished with a thin piece to separate the secondary strip from the primary card so asto make the strip being pulled off easily; however, that method is not economical in terms of manufacturing procedure and cost.
In view of the aforesaid disadvantages ofthe conventional name cards, the inventor has developed a novel and improved name card, in which the primary card is provided with a secondary strip that is easy to separate from the primary card without damaging its adhesive means, since the secondary strip is furnished with a means to separate or a means to facilitate the separation. Further, since the secondary strip of the name card is printed with a brief or condensed information that is rather convenient to a user either in home, in office, or during travelling without the bother of writing the information.
The prime feature of the present invention is that the primary cards is furnished, at a suitable part, with a separable secondary strip or a secondary strip easily to be separated from the primary cards. In use, when the secondary strip is separated from the primary card, the secondary strip can be adhered to some card holderorthelike. Further, the space on the primary card left by the secondary strip removed may be printed with some information to become another secondary strip for serving the same purpose of communicating the information.
The embodiments ofthe present invention are described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings as follows:
Referring to Figure 1,thereisshown a planviewof the first embodiment of the present invention, in which the splitting line 17 is a straight line to divide the primary card into two parts 15 and 16, while an adhesive strip 18 is attached to the primary cards 15 and 16to preventthemfrom being separated. Upon viewing from the backside ofthe cards, one can only seethe splitting line 17andthetwo parts 15 and 16of the primary card without seeing the secondary strip 18. lfthesplitting line 17 is made into an invisible design or means, the two parts 15 and 16 will hardly be distinguished each other.
In fact, the primary card may be provided with a plurality of invisible splitting lines so as to adherethe secondary strip at any part thereof. The splitting line may be designed into various forms such as wave shape orzigzag shape, etc. The primary card 16 to be separated may also be another secondary strip.
Figure 2 shows the operation way to the card shown in Figure 1. Fortearing off the adhesive strip 18, hold one side ofthe primary card (15) with one hand, while the other hand holds another primary card 16 and one side ofthe adhesive strip 18; then, tearthemalongthesplitting line 17 in opposite direction until the adhesive strip being separated from the primary card. In that case, the adhesive strip 18 is still attached to the primary card 16, but do not touch the adhesive portion of the adhesive strip 18so asto preventtheadhesivestrengthfrom being reduced byany miscellaneous stuffs on thefinger. In that moment, the verythin adhesive strip 18 can straightly attach to the thick and flat primary card 16 without becoming rolling up and useless.
In attaching the adhesive strip 18 to another place, hold with fingersthe primary card 16 portion adhered with the adhesive strip 18, and adhere the adhesive strip 18 side to the place where that strip 18 is to be attached and press the strip 18. Afterthe adhesive strip being surely attached to the place desired, separate the primary card 1 6from the strip 18.
Figure 3 illustrates another embodiment of the present invention, in which each ofthe both sides of the primary card 25 isfurnishedwith a reverse
U-shaped splitting line 27 covered with an adhesive strip 28 so asto have the primary card 26 to from a square piece after being separated from the primary card 25. The function of the primary card 26 is the same as that of the primary card 16 in Figure 1, i.e.,to facilitate to remove the adhesive strip 28 without
damaging the adhesive strength thereof. Afterthe adhesive strip 28 being attached to a given surface, the primary card 26, may be discarded. The primary card 26 may be designed into other shape and dimensions, such as semi-circular shape as a finger tip.
Figure 4 illustrates the operational view of Figure 3,
i.e., hold the primary card 25 with one hand, and
hold, with the other hand, the connected part
between the adhesive strip 28 and the primary card 26 to separate the adhesive strip 28 from the primary card 25; then, hold the primary card 26 with two hands, and attach itto a given surface desired, and then remove the primary card 26.
Figure 5 illustrates another embodiment ofthe present invention, in which the splitting line 37 can only have the primary card 35 splitted partially without being separated each other. Figure 6 shows the operational view of the embodiment shown in
Figure 5.
Figure 7 is still another embodiment of the present invention, in which the primary card 48 is a part ofthe primary card 45 made ofthe same material as that of the primary card 45. The splitting line 47 ofthe aforesaid two cards is at the bottom ofthe card; they are rather easyto manufacture since the primary card 48 is also used as an adhesive strip. Figure 8 is the rearview of Figure 7, in which a splitting line 47 is provided atthe lower left corner ofthe primary card 45 to define a primary card 46 so as to remove the primary card 48, which is also referred to as an adhesive strip 48.Figure 9 is an operational view of the embodiment shown in Figure 7, in which the primary card 46 has been separated from the primary card 45, but it is attaching to the adhesive strip 48 so as to facilitatethe handling of the latterto attach to a given surface.
Referring to Figure 10, there is shown another embodiment ofthe present invention, in which the adhesive strip 6 is an elongated strips, being detachably adhered to the left edge of the primary card 12, and the adhesive strip 6 may be either separated from the primary card 12 or re-adhered thereto. In printing, information can be printed on the primary card 12 and the adhesive strip 6 simultaneously. The card owner can remove the adhesive strip 6, and can attach itto a small correspondence note book, while puts the primary card 12 in the ordinary name card holder. This way of maintaining the name card and its information is hardly ever disclosed in the conventional name cards.
As shown in Figure 10, the adhesive strip 6 may take about 1/15 ofthe size ofthe primary card 12, but the result thereof may be several times more than the size. The adhesive strip 6 may be varied in its
number, size, thickness, shape, color, material used, the position attached to the primary card (such as on the front side, rear side, the upper or lowerside, the left or right side, etc.). The main point is hinged on
better convenience in arranging and using the information.
Referring to Figure 11, there is shown a primary card 22 provided with two adhesivestrips36 being adhered on the upper rightcornerofthe primary card. The position of the adhesive strips 36 on the card 22 may be varied, such as being attached laterally or longitudinally.
Briefly, the separating or easy sepa rating design of the primary card according to the present invention may be varied in many ways. The number of the adhesive strips may also be varied if necessary.
Further, a part of the primary card may be used as an adhesive strips. For manufacturing convenience or practical sake, the primary card may be covered with adhesive strips completely; the information may printed on the primary card orthe adhesive strip. The splitting line may also be designed at different position so asto have all the adhesive strips separated from the primary card completely orto have only one strip separated from the primary card; the adhesive strip may be made into a part ofthe primary card with their splitting line being made in an invisible manner; in other words, the name card(s) according to the present invention looks like, in appearance, no difference from the conventional name cards, but it is very useful in information communication.
