Abstract

A means of attachment for covering plates on buildings, particularly roofing sheets, comprises an elongated mounting crossbar (12), adapted to form a mounting surface for the covering plates (11), and at least two clamps (15), attached to the building and adapted to secure the crossbar. The clamps (15) are designed to extend over at least a portion of the crossbar (12) and to hold the crossbar (12) in such a way that the crossbar can be moved along the surface of the building perpendicularly to its longitudinal direction, so that thermal movements in the sheets can be absorbed. The clamps (15) may consist of metal straps running across the crossbar. The crossbar (12) is provided with sliding surfaces which are adapted to abut against a slide surface (20).
