Abstract

A display mount comprises a profiled rail 1 onto which is releasably snapped two parallel capping strips 7 and 8 which can be selected from a range of capping strips of a wide range of colours, whereby the colour scheme of the display can be easily changed. An end cap 14 provided with a tongue 16 can be plugged into one or each end of the rail 1. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Display mount According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a display mount comprising a main body on the front of which is readily releasably attached a capping member.
According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided display apparatus comprising a main body and a plurality of capping members which differ in colour from each other and of which any selected one can be readily releasably attached on the front of said main body.
In order that the invention may be clearly understood and readily carried into effect, reference will now be made, by way of example, to the accompanying drawing which shows an exploded perspective view of a display mount.
Referring to the drawing, the mount includes an extruded PVC or aluminium, horizontal, main rail 1 for fixing to a vertical wall, for example a shop wall, by means of screws inserted through a vertical plate 2 of the rail 1. Integral with the plate 2 and projecting from a front face thereof is a top flange 3, an intermediate, downwardly hooked flange 4, an intermediate, upwardly hooked flange 5 and a bottom flange 6. Also provided are an upper capping strip 7 and a lower capping strip 8 with rearwardly and inwardly turned edges 9 which are arranged to snap over an upwardly directed free edge 10 of the flange 3, a downwardly directed free edge 11 of the flange 4, an upwardly directed free edge 12 of the flange 5, and a downwardly directed free edge 13 of the flange 6, in order to retain the strips 7 and 8 releasably on the rail 1.The strips 7 and 8 can thereby be snapfitted by pressing them rearwardly onto the front of the rail 1 and be removed by pulling them forwardly from the front of the rail. Each end of the rail 1 can be closed by means of a readily removable cap 14 consisting of a rectangular part 15 of substantially the same overall external cross-section and the overall external cross-section of the rail 1 and a rectangular tongue 16 which is a press fit into the channel 17 bounded by the flanges 4 and 5. The cross-section of the channel 17 is shaped and dimensioned to receive mounting hooks of conventional hanging spaces, leaflet holders and other display fittings, inserted from the front of the display mount. The strips 7 and 8 have been selected from a range of strips of a wide range of colours.
Although the strip 7 is preferably of the same colour as the strip 8, this is not necessary.
The advantage of having a wide range of available colours of readily attachable and detachable strips is that the colour scheme of the display can be easily changed within wide limits. A plurality of mounts each as shown in the drawing can be used one immediately below another to provide effectively a multichannel display board. The mount can also be used as trunking for electrical leads, for example, particularly in the ducts 18 and 19.
1. A display mount comprising a main body on the front of which is readily releasably attached a capping member.
2. A mount as claimed in claim 1, wherein said main body includes at said front first and second, substantially parallel, free edges directed away from each other, and said capping member includes first and second, substantially parallel, opposite edges thereof which are inwardly turned for releasably snapping over the first and second free edges, respectively.
3. A mount as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein a second capping member is readily releasably attached on said front and is spaced from the first-mentioned capping member.
4. A mount as claimed in claim 3 as appended to claim 2, wherein said main body includes at said front third and fourth, substantially parallel, free edges directed away from each other and substantially parallel to the first and second free edges, and said second capping member includes third and fourth, substantially parallel, opposite edges thereof which are inwardly turned for releasably snapping over the third and fourth free edges, respectively.
5. A mount as claimed in claim 3 or 4, wherein said main body defines a channel extending substantially parallelly to the capping members and having a narrowed mouth provided by the space between the capping members.
6. A mount as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein said main body is a rail of a profiled, substantially constant, cross-section, and is closed at an end by a readily removable cap including a part which plugs into that end of the rail.
7. Display apparatus comprising a main body and a plurality of capping members which differ in colour from each other and of which any selected one can be readily releasably attached on the front of said main body.
8. Display apparatus as claimed in claim 7, wherein said capping members can be releasably snapped onto said front.
9. A display mount, substantially as herein before described with reference to the accompanying drawing.

SPECIFICATION Display mount According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a display mount comprising a main body on the front of which is readily releasably attached a capping member. CLAIMS
