Abstract

The device comprises an impression holder (1) and a deformable paste (5), preferably based on silicone, arranged in the impression holder and susceptible of taking the shape of the teeth and/or of the jaw. An armature (7), preferably made of metal, is embedded into the paste and is comprised of a plate provided with retainer openings and presenting a shape corresponding to the jaw. For the making of an impression with such device, a layer of paste (5) is arranged into the groove (4) of the impression holder (1) so as to cover the bottom of said groove (4) and to occupy part of the height, whereafter the armature (7) is placed on said layer and a new layer of paste is laid on the armature (7, 8) into the groove (4) so that the armature is at an equal distance from the bottom and from the sides of the groove (4) and is embedded into the paste (5). The paste is then formed by pressure of the teeth and/or of the jaw into the paste. The paste is hardened and the impression (3) is removed from the impression holder (1, 2). Finally, the paste in excess on the edges of the impression is removed by trimming.
